Narrative
I'm a relationship therapist who helps people learn to heal disagreements & enjoy being together. People are social creatures. We are meant to be connected. The problem is, we are sometimes not very good at communicating what we need/want. We misunderstand, misspeak & have unconscious reactions to triggers. We react out of fear, anger & pain. In short, misunderstandings & reactions get us into a world of hurt! My job is to slow everything down-to think about problems differently, look for patterns & help find the "why" under the "what". We can work to redefine relationships as safe/dependable & build new ways of being together.
I have experience working with individuals/couples, families in crisis, children & adults with intellectual disabilities and/or Autism, and in inpatient treatment (including mood & personality disorders, schizophrenia, & substance use). My focus is on helping clients understand where they are and identify where they want to be and how to get there.
Your family is unique. Happiness and the path to get there isn't "one size fits all". We can work together to make a plan that will work for your life and family. I offer research based skills from my training in trauma/PTSD, EFT, EMDR, relational neurobiology & neurodivergent counseling. I look forward to meeting you and getting to hear your story!
