Narrative

When you begin to recognize that your enjoyment of your child seems to be decreasing while feelings of being stuck, stressed, or overwhelmed are increasing, early childhood mental health services can be an effective tool to get things back on track. Healthy parent/child relationships reflect secure attachment, responsive attunement, and mutual enjoyment. But many things can interrupt that process, even typical things like the birth of a sibling or starting school. These experiences can contribute to challenging behaviors in children that are difficult to handle. Therapy can help to restore connection and understanding.


The language of children is play. Play is a major part of child therapy sessions. Puppets, sand tray, toys, & games all give the child the opportunity to show what they are experiencing and how they are making meaning of their world. Though not formally trained, I know ASL and would be happy to consult to see if my level meets your needs.


I am trained in practices which address early childhood trauma as well as fetal alcohol spectrum disorders. I hold in high regard each unique family system and seek to honor its values. I strongly believe in the healing power of connection and in having someone "hold hope" with you, while facing real issues. It would be my honor to journey with you.
