Narrative

Through diverse academic and professional experiences, I have developed a unique skillset and approach to therapy. I spent 8 years as a nanny before getting my undergraduate degree in early childhood education. I was a special education teacher for Lewisville ISD for 5 years. While working as a teacher, I completed my masters degree in counseling specializing in Play Therapy. Other professional work history includes the mobile Crisis Team for Denton County MHMR and counseling families in crisis at the Children's Advocacy Center.

I counsel children ages 10+, teens, and women using a TeleHealth platform.

I'm comfortable treating an array of childhood and women's issues including anxiety, behavior concerns, and sexual abuse. I have a warm, inviting demeanor that my clients respond to early in the therapeutic process. I also coach parents on techniques and strategies to improve their child's behavior and strengthen the parent/child relationship.
I have success with adult women, providing a comfortable and conversational environment to foster growth and self-awareness. For children, I believe parents should be involved in the therapeutic process. I incorporate parents EVERY week. We discuss progress, parenting strategies, and coping skills. Change will not occur unless the parents are partners in therapy.
