Narrative

Your story is so much bigger than whatever brings you to therapy. I'm Dr. Kyler Shumway. I joined the field of psychology because I know what it's like to lose momentum, to feel defeated, to be lost. I know what it's like to feel alone, like no one else can or wants to understand. I know what it's like to be tormented by the ghosts of your past. I know what it's like to move forward, overcome, and courageously confront the things that bring you suffering. I believe that you can do that, too.

Like detectives on the case, we'll work together to explore your mystery and uncover answers. I work hard to help my clients develop insight, self-awareness, and a sense of empowerment. However, those things will only help if you also make real changes to your life - which is why we will also collaborate on strategies and skills to use in the real world.
