Narrative

My practice is about seventy percent family therapy and thirty percent individual therapy. Most of the families I work with have at least one, if not many, of the following diagnoses:

  • AD/HD
  • oppositional defiant disorder
  • learning disabilities (dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, pragmatic communication, etc)
  • social communication disorder
  • autism
  • anxiety
  • depression
  • OCD
  • PTSD
  • bipolar disorder

I actively use Accelerated Resolution Therapy(ART) to help people gain relief from trauma and persistent unwanted thoughts.

I identify professionally with my clinical licensure as a family therapist. I am considered an expert treating professional for children suffering from severe anxiety disorders such as selective mutism and school phobia. I regularly treat autism, AD/HD, and anxiety all in the same family. In couples therapy I actively use Emotionally Focused Therapy.

Beyond my therapy practice: I am an adjunct professor at the University of Houston-Clear Lake, a supervisor for licensed marriage and family therapy associates and licensed professional counselor associates, and a seasoned trainer and volunteer for the Red Cross in Disaster Mental Health.
